Tara Outlaw

Hello My Name Is...

Tara Outlaw

Hi, my name is Tara Outlaw and I am a second grade teacher. I have a BS Degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Tennessee State University.

I was born and raised in Atlanta (Decatur), Georgia, where I graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School in 2007. I then continued my education at Albany State University while participating as a Golden Rams Basketball Cheerleader and a member of the Royal Dolls Flag Line. In 2009, I transferred to Tennessee State University and graduated in 2013. During my college years, I enjoyed spending time with friends, babysitting, and tutoring. My biggest challenge was balancing school, work, and personal life.

This year is my fifth year teaching. I have held titles such as kindergarten teacher, first grade teacher, Pre- K teacher, fifth grade social studies teacher, camp counselor, Director of Children’s Ministry, Aftercare teacher, assistant teacher, student teacher, intern, mentor and private tutor. I've loved every job I've worked because I feel like teaching is my calling. I love to make a difference in the lives of young children. I love to see their faces when they learn something new or learns a concept they never understood before.

In my spare time, I like to color, take my dogs to the park, go skating, climb Stone Mountain, and watch movies. I enjoy reading all kinds of books, motivational books most! I love to watch comedy, romantic, and action movies.
